LASSERHAUS - CASA F
Located in the historic center of Bressanone, within the Lasserhaus, we have restored a 15th-century aristocratic residence, transforming it into an architectural organism with a dual soul. While the lower floors are dedicated to the Art Hotel, the top two levels house the family’s private residence: a space of over 650 sqm where historical memory engages with a contemporary vision of living.
The core of the project is the transformation of the attic, which has been converted from a residual space into the vibrant heart of the home. Through a bespoke architectural approach, we shaped autonomous volumes flooded with natural light from large dormer windows and skylights. The space’s iconic feature is the monumental metal staircase connecting the two floors, establishing a visual and spatial continuity that enhances the overall perception of the environment. Another key junction is the suspended ‘winter garden’: a glass floor connecting the kitchen and dining area, marking the threshold between the hotel’s public sphere and domestic intimacy.
The home’s narrative unfolds through environments where the family’s prestigious collection of Tyrolean Baroque art dialogues with an essential and urban aesthetic. Steering clear of vernacular clichés, we chose measured materials and details, collaborating with over 40 local artisans to celebrate the region's craftsmanship. The result is a residence that seamlessly fuses architecture and collecting into a personal and coherent language, where art is a living, everyday presence.
