Maso H
Maso H presents a nuanced dialogue between the historical fabric and contemporary additions, an ironical interplay of echoes and contrasts between the existing structure and new volumes, the surrounding landscape and curated artistic interventions. The original sixteenth-century maso benefited from essential structural consolidation and a meticulous program of conservative restoration.
Adjoining the historic building, a new volume now houses a spa and swimming pool, the latter extending visually into the landscape through a seamless glass wall. The private art gallery, carved into the hillside behind the maso and connected via a subterranean passage, is illuminated by zenithal light from a discreet patio. At ground level, a self-contained guest annex overlooks this gallery patio, offering a curated glimpse into the collection. The material palette, drawn from the vernacular building traditions of Alto Adige, ensures a harmonious integration of the complex within its setting, a landscape punctuated by thoughtfully placed architectural artworks.
