"Following a donation from Fondazione Fiera, and specifically through the contribution of a private benefactress, we have finalized the development of the new Auditorium and Congress Center. It is dedicated to the father of our benefactress, Mrs. Valier, and will be named the Valerio Valier Auditorium.

The congress hall will accommodate approximately 300 people - we are talking about a footprint of about a thousand square meters, encompassing both public and functional areas - and is organized across two floors. Access is gained through the outdoor area and the large portico, and the layout unfolds on two levels: from the balcony, one descends to the main stalls (the platea), which aligns with the internal courtyard of the new Policlinico.

We sought to give a more defined form to the interior volumes, a new spatial identity. This identity had to reflect the benefactress’s vision but, above all, it sought to distance itself from a 'hospital aesthetic'; it wanted to feel different. This distinction lies primarily in the formal language we chose to adopt, the selection of materials, and a nod to the culture of hospitality and conference - an atmosphere belonging to the heritage of Milanese theaters and cinemas. It features a richness of materiality that does not typically belong to the conventional hospital environment.

It will be a venue for cultural events, congresses, meetings, and even performances or leisure activities. It will undoubtedly serve as the interface between the New Policlinico and the city of Milan." - Claudio Saverino
